Inflamed Back Cyst POP

Usually a sebaceous cyst grows very slowly and doesn’t cause pain. However, they can become inflamed or infected, with the overlying skin becoming red, tender, and sore. Sometimes, they occur on a site that is constantly irritated, such as a cyst on your neck that rubs against your collar.

A sebaceous cyst is a benign, closed, firm sac that lies in the skin and often forms a dome-shaped lump attached to the epidermis that can be moved over underlying tissues. It occurs primarily on the face, neck, shoulder, or chest (hair-bearing areas of the body). It is extremely common in the population and may occur at any age. They are not contagious and do not run the risk of developing cancer (in other words, they’re benign).

An effective antibiotic to fight the infection will be prescribed as soon as possible. Be sure to finish your course so the infection doesn’t weaken and then return. In as little as a week your cyst will be disappearing. Surgical intervention is a simple operation in which the cyst is completely removed.
